...LAKE WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CST TUESDAY...

The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Lake Wind
Advisory, which is in effect until 9 AM CST Tuesday.

* EVENT...North winds will increase to 15 to 25 mph with gusts up
to 25 to 30 mph in the wake of a strong cold front during the
overnight and early morning hours.

* TIMING...Now until 9 AM Tuesday when wind speeds are expected
to diminish.

* IMPACT...Rough chop on area lakes will create hazardous boating
conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation is expected. Plan on slippery road
conditions, including during the morning commute on Tuesday.
Total snow accumulations of up to two inches and ice
accumulations of a light glaze are expected. The combination of
very cold air and strong north winds will cause wind chill
values to fall into the single digits early Tuesday morning.

* WHERE...In Louisiana, De Soto County. In Texas, Nacogdoches
and Shelby County.

* WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, 3 AM to 6 PM Tuesday.
For the Wind Chill Advisory, until noon Tuesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Look for reduced visibilities at times.
The cold wind chills will cause frostbite in as little as 30
minutes to exposed skin.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while
driving. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling

A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will
combine to create low wind chills. Frost bite and hypothermia can
occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and
