...A Few Pockets of freezing temperatures possible overnight...
The combination of dry air, light winds, and mostly clear skies
across portions of South Central Texas will allow temperatures to
fall into the 30s across most areas of South Central Texas
tonight. While a widespread freeze is not expected, there could be
a few areas, especially out in the Hill Country, where low
temperatures hit the freezing mark around sunrise. We can't rule
out that even some areas along and east of I-35 could briefly
drop into the lower 30s. This typically occurs in low lying areas,
drainage basins, and other low spots where colder air tends to
pool especially on these expected cool nights.
Some high clouds are expected overnight and if thick enough, they
may do a good enough job in keeping the temperatures one or two
degrees warmer. So if you do have some freeze sensitive plants and
live in one of these cool spots, be aware that 30s are expected and
you may want to take some precautions just for this one night.
