...LAKE WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 6 PM CST THIS
The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Lake Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from Noon today to 6 PM CST.
* EVENT...Southwesterly winds of 15 to 20 MPH with gusts to 25 MPH
will develop with an approaching cold front tightening the pressure
gradient. These strong winds will gradually diminish toward
sunset and the early evening.
* TIMING...During the afternoon hours.
* IMPACT...Winds will likely produce rough chop on area lakes and
open waterways, which may be hazardous to boaters.
A Lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to taking
water over the sides perhaps to the point of sinking or capsizing.
