* AT 508 PM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING
HEAVY RAIN. FLASH FLOODING IS LIKELY AS 5 TO 10 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN
ACROSS THIS AREA SINCE YESTERDAY. HOURLY RAINFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES
CONTINUE.

LIBERTY...MONTGOMERY...POLK...SAN JACINTO...WALLER...
WASHINGTON AND WHARTON.

* UNTIL 10 PM CDT THIS EVENING

* AREAS OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN HAVE TRAINED ACROSS MUCH OF THE
AREA SINCE THURSDAY. RAINFALL TOTALS SO FAR HAVE AVERAGED FROM
10 TO 20 INCHES ACROSS LOCATIONS ALONG A LINE FROM BRENHAM TO
CONROE. HARDEST HIT COUNTIES HAVE BEEN WASHINGTON...
BRAZOS...BURLESON...GRIMES AND MONTGOMERY.

* ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES ARE EXPECTED WITH
ISOLATED AMOUNTS FROM 4 TO 6 INCHES. DUE TO ALREADY SATURATED
GROUNDS...ANY HEAVY RAINFALL WILL RUN OFF QUICKLY AND WILL
PRODUCE MORE FLOOD AND FLASH FLOOD PROBLEMS.

* Forecast...Rise above flood stage this evening and continue rising over the
weekend to near 22.7 feet by Tuesday afternoon.
* At 21.7 feet...Water is over the lowest slab elevations buildings on the right
downstream side near the gage and FM 1485 near the gage is closed.

rise to near 29.4 feet early Monday morning...then begin falling Tuesday.
* At 29.0 feet...Major lowland flooding begins as homes in several subdivisions
above Liberty begin flooding. Extensive flooding over much of Liberty County
can be expected with each incremental rise in the river.
