THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS NOW IN EFFECT FOR

* A PORTION OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING
AUSTIN...BRAZOS...BURLESON...FORT ...BEND...GRIMES...HARRIS...
HOUSTON...LIBERTY...MADISON...MONTGOMERY...POLK...SAN
JACINTO...TRINITY...WALKER...WALLER AND WASHINGTON.

* THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING

* AREAS OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN HAVE TRAINED ACROSS MUCH OF THE
AREA TODAY. RAINFALL TOTALS SO FAR TODAY HAVE AVERAGED FROM 8 TO
12 INCHES ACROSS LOCATIONS ALONG AND NORTH OF A LINE FROM
BRENHAM TO CONROE. HARDEST HIT COUNTIES HAVE BEEN WASHINGTON...
BRAZOS...BURLESON...GRIMES AND MONTGOMERY.

* ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES ARE EXPECTED WITH
ISOLATED AMOUNTS FROM 3 TO 6 INCHES TONIGHT. ADDITIONAL ROUNDS
OF STORMS ARE FORECAST FOR TOMORROW. ANY HEAVY RAINFALL TOMORROW
WILL RUN-OFF QUICKLY AND WILL PRODUCE MORE FLOOD AND FLASH
FLOOD PROBLEMS.

The National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston has issued a

* Flood Warning for
The Brazos River In Richmond.
* from late Saturday night until further notice...or until the warning is
canceled.
* At 0815 PM Thursday the stage was 34.1 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 45.0 feet.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by early Sunday morning and continue to rise
to near 47.2 feet by early Tuesday morning. Additional rises are possible
thereafter.
* At 47.0 feet...Minor lowland flooding continues as the Brazos River begins
filling the Frydek Bottom upstream of Valley Lodge. Gates are closed and
pumping continues in Simonton and FM 1458 near FM 1093 in Austin County is
inundated. Baudet Road and Red Bird Lane have close to one foot of water over
them.

* Flood Warning for
The Brazos River near Rosharon.
* from late Saturday night until further notice...or until the warning is
canceled.
* At 0900 PM Thursday the stage was 40.4 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 43.0 feet.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Sunday morning and continue to rise to
near 49.4 feet by Tuesday evening. Additional rises are possible thereafter.
* At 49.6 feet...Moderate lowland flooding continues with River Oaks Road in
Fort Bend County and the bridge over Cow Creek in Brazoria County flooded and
impassable. County Road 380A near Damon is inundated.

The Brazos River Near San Felipe.
* from Friday evening to Tuesday afternoon...or until the warning is canceled.
* At 0830 PM Thursday the stage was 104.6 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 122.5 feet.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by tomorrow late evening and continue to
rise to near 123.9 feet by Saturday morning. The river will fall below flood
stage by early Tuesday morning.
