...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 9 PM MDT THURSDAY FOR
STRONG WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITIES...

The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has
issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from noon to 9 PM
MDT Thursday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* WINDS...West 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph.

* HUMIDITY...9 to 15 percent.

* HIGHEST THREAT...Lowland locations south and east of a line
from Deming to Alamogordo.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THURSDAY TO 3 AM MDT
FRIDAY...

The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has
issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect from 1 PM Thursday to
3 AM MDT Friday.

* TIMING...Winds will increase and become windy by noon with
strongest winds are most likely between 3 pm and 10 pm. Winds
will continue strong overnight and begin to diminish on the
early morning hours.

* WINDS...West winds will have sustained speeds near 30 mph with
gusts around 40 to 50 mph.

* VISIBILITY...Blowing dust will reduce the visibility to less
than a mile over much of the area with the visibility under a
half mile across a few locations.

* IMPACTS...The blowing dust and low visibility will cause
dangerous driving conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 30 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
