THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PORTLAND HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM THURSDAY TO MIDNIGHT
PST THURSDAY NIGHT.

* TIMING...SNOW WILL BEGIN MID TO LATE MORNING ON THURSDAY...
CONTINUE THROUGH MUCH OF THE DAY THURSDAY IN THE INLAND AREAS
BUT START TO CHANGE TO FREEZING RAIN IN THE COASTAL MOUNTAINS IN
THE AFTERNOON AND IN THE INLAND AREAS AROUND 4 PM. FREEZING
RAIN WILL THEN CONTINUE INLAND UNTIL MIDNIGHT...ESPECIALLY NEAR
THE GORGE.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...GENERALLY 2 TO 4 INCHES...BUT LOCALLY 3 TO
6 INCHES IN AREAS SUCH AS FAR EASTERN CLARK COUNTY...ON THE
FOOTHILLS OF THE CASCADES AND IN THE COASTAL MOUNTAINS.

* ICE ACCUMULATIONS...UP TO A QUARTER INCH OF ICE IS POSSIBLE
LATER THURSDAY AND THURSDAY NIGHT.

* WIND...STRONG EAST WINDS LOCALLY GUSTING 40 TO 50 MPH ACROSS
THE EASTERN PORTLAND AND VANCOUVER METRO AREA WILL LEAD TO
AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW...AS WELL AS COLD WIND CHILLS.

* IMPACTS...TRAVEL WILL BE DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FROM LATE
MORNING THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING. POWER OUTAGES ARE POSSIBLE.

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW, SLEET,

THURSDAY FOR THE SOUTH WASHINGTON AND NORTH OREGON
COASTS...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PORTLAND HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM TO 8 PM PST THURSDAY.

* TIMING...A MIXTURE OF SNOW...SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN IS EXPECTED
TO BEGIN AFTER SUNRISE THURSDAY AND CONTINUE INTO THE EARLY
EVENING THURSDAY. THE BULK OF THE PRECIPITATION WILL BE FREEZING
RAIN. THE PRECIPITATION MAY CHANGE TO ALL RAIN BY 4 PM IN THE
SOUTH BUT NEAR AND NORTH OF ASTORIA MAY TAKE UNTIL MID EVENING
THURSDAY.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED
TO BE RELATIVELY LIGHT...WITH THE BEST CHANCE OF AN INCH OF SNOW
IN THE NORTHERN SECTIONS TOWARD ASTORIA AND LONG BEACH.

* ICE ACCUMULATIONS...UP TO A QUARTER INCH OF ICE IS POSSIBLE.

* IMPACTS...TRAVEL WILL BE DIFFICULT AS ROADS BECOME ICY. SOME
POWER DISRUPTIONS ARE POSSIBLE.
