...FREEZING RAIN ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TO 6 PM PST
TUESDAY BELOW 2000 FEET FOR THE NORTH OREGON CASCADES AND
FOOTHILLS...

* TIMING...FREEZING RAIN IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP TUESDAY MORNING. VALLEY
TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO SLOWLY CLIMB ABOVE FREEZING TUESDAY
AFTERNOON... ENDING THE FREEZING RAIN THREAT TUESDAY EVENING.

* ICE ACCUMULATION...VALLEY ICE ACCUMULATION OF ONE TO TWO
TENTHS...WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS TOWARD THE COLUMBIA RIVER
GORGE. RIDGETOP TEMPERATURES WILL BE SIGNIFICANTLY WARMER...
SO NO SIGNIFICANT ICING IS EXPECTED IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN.

* IMPACTS...SEVERAL DAYS OF VERY COLD TEMPERATURES WILL MAKE
GROUND SURFACES LIKE ROADS AND SIDEWALKS VERY RECEPTIVE TO
ICE ACCUMULATION. IT MAY TAKE A COUPLE HOURS OF TEMPERATURES
ABOVE FREEZING TO COMPLETELY END THE FREEZING RAIN THREAT AT
ANY GIVEN LOCATION. ICE ACCUMULATION ON TREES AND POWER
LINES MAY RESULT IN DOWNED BRANCHES AND LINES...WHICH WOULD
BRING THE THREAT OF POWER OUTAGES TUESDAY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FREEZING RAIN ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF FREEZING RAIN OR
FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR
SLIPPERY ROADS. SLOW DOWN AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.

...ICE STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TUESDAY TO 6 PM
PST WEDNESDAY BELOW 2500 FEET FOR THE UPPER HOOD RIVER VALLEY AND
WESTERN AND CENTRAL COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE...

* TIMING...LIGHT FREEZING RAIN IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP TUESDAY
MORNING WILL THEN INCREASE IN THE AFTERNOON. FREEZING RAIN
WILL BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY.
TEMPERATURES WILL BE VERY SLOW TO CLIMB...AND MANY LOCATIONS
MAY NOT CLIMB ABOVE FREEZING UNTIL WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON OR
EVENING. PRECIPITATION WILL TAPER TO SHOWERS WEDNESDAY NIGHT.

* ICE ACCUMULATION...ICE ACCUMULATIONS OF ONE HALF INCH TO ONE
INCH EXPECTED TO BE FAIRLY WIDESPREAD. SOME LOCATIONS MAY
EXCEED ONE AND A HALF OF INCHES OF ICE FROM THIS STORM.

* IMPACTS...THIS IS EXPECTED TO BE YET ANOTHER MAJOR ICE STORM
FOR THE WESTERN AND CENTRAL COLUMBIA GORGE AND SURROUNDING
VALLEYS. HEAVY ICE ACCUMULATION WILL LIKELY BRING DOWN SOME
LARGE BRANCHES AND POWER LINES. POWER OUTAGES MAY LAST MULTIPLE
DAYS DEPENDING ON HOW WIDESPREAD THESE IMPACTS ARE. THIS EVENT
WILL ONLY ADD TO THE EXISTING HEAVY SNOW AND ICE LOADING ON
ROOFTOPS...WHICH MAY CAUSE SOME ROOFTOPS TO FAIL.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

AN ICE STORM WARNING MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE
EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF ICE ACCUMULATIONS
WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS OR IMPOSSIBLE. TRAVEL IS STRONGLY
DISCOURAGED. COMMERCE WILL LIKELY BE SEVERELY IMPACTED. IF YOU
MUST TRAVEL...KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT...FOOD...AND WATER IN YOUR
VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. ICE ACCUMULATIONS AND WINDS WILL
LIKELY LEAD TO SNAPPED POWER LINES AND FALLING TREE BRANCHES THAT
ADD TO THE DANGER.

OUTAGES TUESDAY INTO TUESDAY NIGHT.
