The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from 2 PM to 11 PM PDT Sunday. A Fire
Weather Watch remains in effect for Monday morning through Monday
evening.

* Impacts: Lightning and high fire danger will likely result in

In South Central OR...most of the Fremont-Winema National
Forest in Fire Weather Zone 624 except the Klamath Basin...

Mountains from Highway 140 north including Crater Lake in
Fire Weather Zone 623.

* Affected area (Watch): The area covered by the watch includes
all of the above plus areas to the west of the warning area.

* Counties affected (Warning): In South Central OR...western

portions of western Harney.

* Thunderstorms: Scattered thunderstorms with lightning activity
level of 3. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected
with these storms.

* Timing: Thunderstorms are expected over Modoc County this
afternoon then spread north into south-central Oregon by mid
afternoon. Scattered thunderstorms with LAL 3 are not expected
into eastern Umpqua National Forest until this evening. While

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. Scattered
thunderstorms combined with dry fuels create conditions where
many fire starts may occur in a short period of time.

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
Red Flag Warnings.
