LARGE AREA OF THUNDERSTORMS MOVING NORTH INTO EASTERN OKLAHOMA.
SEVERAL INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER THE PAST 24 HOURS...WITH
ANOTHER ONE TO THREE INCHES POSSIBLE THROUGH THE AFTERNOON HOURS.
WITH THE GROUND ALREADY SATURATED...FLASH FLOODING IS LIKELY TO
OCCUR. WHILE PRECIPITATION MAY TAPER OFF IN SOME AREAS DURING THE
WARNING PERIOD...IT WILL TAKE SOME TIME FOR ANY HIGH WATER TO
RUNOFF.

* ADDITIONAL RAINFALL TOTALS OF 2 TO 3 INCHES WILL BE COMMON
THROUGH TONIGHT. LOCAL AMOUNTS DURING THE DAY INTO THE EVENING
HOURS COULD REACH 5 OR 6 INCHES.

The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a

* Flood Warning for
The Spring River near Quapaw
* from late tonight to Wednesday afternoon, or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 9:00 AM Sunday, the stage was 15.06 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The Spring River near Quapaw is expected to rise above
flood stage early Monday morning and continue to rise to near 23.8
feet by Monday evening. The river is expected to fall below flood
stage late Wednesday morning.
* Impact...At 24.0 feet, park and recreational areas downstream from
the gage site experience moderate flooding.

The Flood Warning continues for
The Neosho River near Commerce
* until further notice, or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 9:30 AM Sunday, the stage was 16.82 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The Neosho River near Commerce will continue rising to
near 22.0 feet mid Tuesday morning then begin falling.
* Impact...At 22.0 feet, widespread flooding occurs along the Neosho
River. Riverview Park becomes inundated and access roads to the
Ottawa County Fairgrounds will be closed.
