...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY EVENING THROUGH SUNDAY
EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Burlington has issued a

* A Flood Watch for northern New York and all of central and
northern Vermont.

* From Friday evening through Sunday evening.

* Record warm temperatures and a period of moderate to briefly
heavy rainfall is expected on Saturday.

* Minor to locally moderate flooding is possible due to
combination of snow melt and rainfall amounts between a half and
one inch.

* The greatest flood threat will occur concurrent with and after
the heaviest rainfall, which is expected Saturday afternoon into
Saturday night. The flood threat will be enhanced on rivers with
potential ice breakup, which includes the basins of far
northeastern New York and the northern third of Vermont...generally
north of U.S. Route 2.

* Localized ice jam flooding could begin sooner with ongoing
snowmelt and warm temperatures Thursday into Friday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
