* TIMING...SNOW SHOWERS AND SQUALLS DEVELOPING WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON... THEN BANDS OF LAKE EFFECT SNOW WEDNESDAY NIGHT

* IMPACTS...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL.

A LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY MEANS LAKE EFFECT SNOW IS FORECAST
THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DIFFICULT IN SOME AREAS. LAKE EFFECT SNOW
SHOWERS TYPICALLY ALIGN THEMSELVES IN BANDS AND WILL LIKELY BE
INTENSE ENOUGH TO DROP SEVERAL INCHES IN LOCALIZED AREAS.

* LOCATIONS...WAYNE...NORTHERN CAYUGA...OSWEGO COUNTIES. GREATEST
SNOW AMOUNTS EXPECTED SOUTHEAST OF LAKE ONTARIO FROM
NORTHEASTERN WAYNE ACROSS NORTHERN CAYUGA TO SOUTHERN OSWEGO
COUNTIES.

* TIMING...FROM EARLY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH EARLY THURSDAY
EVENING.

* ACCUMULATIONS...AN INCH OR LESS WEDNESDAY...3 TO 5 INCHES
WEDNESDAY NIGHT...AND 2 TO 4 INCHES THURSDAY...LEADING TO STORM
TOTALS OF 5 TO 9 INCHES IN THE MOST PERSISTENT LAKE SNOWS.

* WINDS...WEST 20 TO 30 MPH PRODUCING SNOW BLOWING AND DRIFTING
SNOW.

* VISIBILITIES...LESS THAN A HALF MILE AT TIMES.

* IMPACTS...LAKE EFFECT SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW WILL RESULT IN
VERY DIFFICULT TRAVEL AT TIMES WITH SNOW COVERED ROADS AND
POOR VISIBILITY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

IN LAKE EFFECT SNOW THE WEATHER CAN VARY FROM LOCALLY HEAVY SNOW
IN NARROW BANDS TO CLEAR SKIES JUST A FEW MILES AWAY. IF YOU WILL
BE TRAVELING ACROSS THE REGION BE PREPARED FOR RAPID CHANGES IN
ROAD AND VISIBILITY CONDITIONS.
