...Rapidly falling temperatures tonight will cause areas of black
ice on untreated road surfaces...

Temperatures are rapidly falling behind a cold front this evening
and will fall through the 20s through the night. Wet and snow
covered untreated road surfaces will freeze this evening and
remain frozen tonight into the morning commute Wednesday morning.

Motorists should use extreme caution while traveling on untreated
roads this evening through the commute Wednesday morning. Reduce
speeds and allow extra space between yourself and other drivers.

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM TO 7 PM EST WEDNESDAY...

The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from 7 AM to 7 PM EST Wednesday.

* Locations...Mohawk and Schoharie Valleys, eastern Catskills,
Greater Capital District, northern and central Taconics and
Berkshires.

* Winds...West to northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* Timing...7 AM to 7 PM Wednesday.

* Impacts...Downed trees, tree limbs and power lines. Scattered
power outages are expected.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds are forecast to be
31 to 39 mph or gusts will range between 46 and 57 mph. Winds of
these magnitudes may cause minor property damage without extra
precautions. Motorists in high profile vehicles should use
caution until the winds subside.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST
WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Lake effect snow expected. Plan on slippery road
conditions. Tree branches could fall as well due to strong winds
developing. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches are
expected, with the greatest amounts across western portions of
the advisory area.

* WHERE...Fulton, Montgomery and Schoharie Counties.

* WHEN...Until 6 PM EST Wednesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Be prepared for reduced visibilities at
times. Maximum snowfall rates up to one inch per hour expected
within the most intense snow bands.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory for lake effect snow means lake effect
snow is forecast that will make travel difficult in some areas.
