THE EVENING.

* TIMING...MINOR TO MODERATE COASTAL FLOODING AROUND THE TIMES OF
ASTRONOMICAL HIGH TIDE...BETWEEN 7 PM AND 11 PM. LOCALIZED MINOR
COASTAL FLOODING IS POSSIBLE WITH THE TUESDAY MORNING HIGH TIDE
CYCLE.

* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...FLOODING OF VULNERABLE WATERFRONT AND
SHORELINE ROADS AND ADJACENT PROPERTIES DUE TO HEIGHT OF STORM
TIDE AND WAVE ACTION. INUNDATION OF 1 TO 2 FT IN THE LOWEST
LYING SPOTS. ROAD CLOSURES MAY BE NEEDED. ISOLATED STRUCTURAL
DAMAGE MAY BE OBSERVED ALONG THE IMMEDIATE SHORELINE.

* SHORELINE IMPACTS...ELEVATED WATER LEVELS IN COMBINATION WITH
3 TO 5 FT OF SURF ARE EXPECTED TO CAUSE BEACH EROSION AND

WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM TO 11 AM EST TUESDAY. THE
COASTAL FLOOD WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* LOCATIONS...ALONG THE SOUTHERN BAYS OF LONG ISLAND...AND ALONG
THE ATLANTIC OCEAN BEACHES.

* TIDAL DEPARTURES...3 1/2 TO 4 FT ABOVE ASTRONOMICAL TIDES LATE
THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. 2 1/2 TO 3 1/2 FT ABOVE ASTRONOMICAL
TIDES TUESDAY MORNING.

* TIMING...MODERATE COASTAL FLOODING AROUND THE TIMES OF
ASTRONOMICAL HIGH TIDE THIS EVENING AND TUESDAY MORNING. THERE
IS POTENTIAL FOR MAJOR FLOOD THRESHOLDS TO BE REACHED IN
ISOLATED SPOTS ACROSS THE SOUTH SHORE OF SUFFOLK COUNTY THIS
EVENING.

* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...POTENTIAL FOR WIDESPREAD FLOODING OF
VULNERABLE WATERFRONT AND SHORELINE ROADS AND ADJACENT
PROPERTIES DUE TO HEIGHT OF STORM TIDE AND WAVE ACTION.
INUNDATION OF 1 TO 2 FT IN THE LOWEST LYING SPOTS...WITH LOW
PROBABILITY OF 3 FT OF INUNDATION. NUMEROUS ROAD CLOSURES MAY BE

* LOW PRESSURE WILL DEVELOP AND STRENGTHEN OFF THE MID-ATLANTIC
COAST TODAY...AND THEN SLOWLY TRACK JUST SOUTH AND EAST OF THE
REGION TONIGHT INTO TUESDAY. MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN WILL DEVELOP
ACROSS THE REGION LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND CONTINUE INTO TONIGHT.
RAINFALL AMOUNTS AROUND 2 INCHES...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS
APPROACHING 4 INCHES ARE EXPECTED. THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS ARE
EXPECTED CLOSER TO THE COAST.

* IMPACTS: IF THE HIGH END RAINFALL AMOUNTS ARE REALIZED...THIS
WILL RESULT IN MODERATE URBAN FLOODING AND MINOR SMALL STREAM
FLOODING IN NORTHEASTERN NJ AND THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY.
ADDITIONALLY...THE COINCIDENCE OF HIGH TIDE WITH THE HEAVY RAIN
THIS EVENING WILL EXACERBATE FLOODING ALONG THE COASTAL
WATERFRONT AND SHORELINE ROADS. THIS INCLUDES ALONG TIDALLY
AFFECTED RIVERS...SUCH AS THE PASSAIC...HACKENSACK...AND HUDSON
RIVER.

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON
CURRENT FORECASTS. YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE
