Flood Advisory
Churchill NV-
956 AM PDT WED APR 26 2017

The National Weather Service in Reno has extended the

* Flood Advisory for...
A Dam Floodgate Release in...
West central Churchill County in west central Nevada...

* Until 1000 AM PDT Tuesday

* Flooding near the Carson river and canal system around Fallon
remains possible through spring and early summer.

* Releases from Lahontan Reservoir will maintain high flows on the
Carson River and canal system around Fallon. These high flows will
continue for an indefinite amount of time as the irrigation
district draws down the reservoir in anticipation of higher
snowmelt flows in May and June. Officials are constantly
monitoring the high flows and channel conditions.

* Bafford Lane was closed to improve water flow. It may take until
the summer for the road is safely restored. Additional work in and
around Fallon is likely to improve channel capacity and minimize
flooding concerns.

The river is powerful, fast and cold. Please stay clear for safety.
Any unanticipated increase in flows or changes to the river and
canal channels could lead to flooding in areas near the river and
canal system.
