...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM MST THIS
EVENING...

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...An additional 3 to 6 inches with locally
higher amounts along the highest west facing mountain slopes.
Storm total snowfall amounts of 8 to 14 inches near and above
7500 feet and 5 to 10 inches below 7500 feet.

* TIMING...Snow, heavy at times, will continue through the
afternoon before diminishing late today into early evening.

* WINDS...West to southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to to 45
mph today becoming westerly 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph
tonight.

* SNOW LEVELS...Temperatures will be cold enough for snow all
areas.

* LOCAL IMPACTS...Significant reductions in visibility due to
heavy snowfall and blowing snow will create hazardous
conditions. Travel will be difficult at times due to
snowpacked and icy roads.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow and blowing snow means
severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring.
Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel
dangerous. Strong winds are likely. Only travel in an emergency.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM MST THIS
EVENING...

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...2 to 5 inches generally expected with 1 or
2 inches in the immediate Taos area. Locally up to 10 inches
across the high peaks near the Moreno valley.

* TIMING...Snow, briefly heavy at times, will continue through
early afternoon before gradually diminishing late today into
early evening.

* WINDS...West to southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to to 45
mph today becoming westerly 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph
tonight.

* SNOW LEVELS...Mix of rain and snow will initially impact the
upper Rio Grande Valley but temperatures near and just above the
surface will trend colder supporting snow at all locations
before diminishing early this evening.

* LOCAL IMPACTS...Roads may become snow covered and icy at times
especially on bridges and overpasses. Sudden reductions in
visibility due to the snow and blowing snow can be expected.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that
visibilities will be restricted due to a combination of falling
and blowing snow.
