...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
FRIDAY EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Fire
Weather Watch...which is in effect from Friday afternoon through
Friday evening.

* AREA AND TIMING...Middle Rio Grande Valley, including
Albuquerque Friday afternoon and early evening.

* 20 FOOT WINDS...Northwest at 20 to 30 mph with occasional gusts
to 45 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...10 to 15 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the
field of this Fire Weather Watch.

...HIGH WIND WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM MDT FRIDAY...

* LOCATION...Portions of the central mountain chain, adjacent
eastern highlands and plains.

* WINDS...West to southwest 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.
Winds diminishing and becoming more northwest to west after
sunset.

* TIMING...Winds will continue trend downward with sunset, but
will probably remain hazardous in some wind prone locations
tonight and again on Friday.

* VISIBILITY...Dropping to 1 to 3 miles at times in dust prone
locations.

* LOCAL IMPACTS...Unsecured objects may become airborne and power
lines may topple over. Power outages will be possible. Cross
winds will be dangerous on northwest-to-southeast oriented
roads, like Highway 285 from Eldorado to Roswell.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remember, A High Wind Warning means damaging winds are imminent
or highly likely. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or
gusts of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.

...WIND ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM MDT FRIDAY...

* LOCATION...Middle and lower Rio Grande Valley including the
Albuquerque metro area, as well as the Upper Tularosa Basin and
southcentral highlands.

* WINDS...West and southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph,
turning more west to northwest through evening. Winds will
increase late tonight into Friday from the northwest.

* TIMING...Wind speeds will continue to trend downward with
sunset, but still remain breezy to windy overnight and increase
even further during the day Friday.

* VISIBILITY...Dropping to 3 to 5 miles at times in dust prone
locations through sunset.

* LOCAL IMPACTS...Unsecured objects may become airborne. Power
outages will be possible. Cross winds will be dangerous,
especially for high profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should exercise caution while travelling. Sudden gusts
of wind may cause you to lose control of your vehicle. Extra
attention should be given to cross winds.

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO 7 PM MDT
FRIDAY...

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from 9 PM this evening to 7 PM MDT
Friday.

* LOCATION...West-central and southwest mountains and adjacent
highlands.

* WINDS...Westerly winds generally in the 15 to 30 mph range early
evening will steadily increase and switch to the northwest later
tonight into Friday. Speeds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to
near 50 mph can be expected.

* TIMING... Winds from the west this evening will gradually switch
from the northwest later tonight into Friday. The strongest
gusts are most likely after midnight into Friday morning.

* VISIBILITY...Widespread restrictions to visibility are not
expected at this time.

* LOCAL IMPACTS...Unsecured objects may become airborne and power
lines may topple over. Power outages will be possible. Cross
winds will be dangerous, especially for high profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
