...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM EDT
* WHAT...Heavy snow occurring. Additional snow accumulations of 9
to 13 inches are expected.
* WHERE...Portions of southern New Jersey, southeast
Pennsylvania, northeast Maryland and northern Delaware.
* WHEN...Heavy snow is occurring in the northwest suburbs of
Philadelphia and adjacent portions of southeast Pennsylvania at
this time. Precipitation has transitioned to snow elsewhere and
will become heavy this afternoon. Snow rates of one to two
inches per hour are likely during the afternoon. Snow will begin
to taper off late this evening.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel will be very difficult to
impossible, including during the evening commute. Be prepared
for significant reductions in visibility at times. In addition,
wind gusts of 25 to 40 mph will create considerable blowing snow
and may contribute to power outages, especially when combined
with the weight of the snow.
A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you
must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for
the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
