Counties east-northeast to the Trenton area to Middlesex and
western Monmouth Counties. One to two inch per hour snow rates are

Winter Storm Warning
Including the cities of Newton, Washington, and Morristown
410 AM EDT Wed Mar 21 2018

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 9 to 14
inches are expected. The greatest accumulations should be in the
higher elevations.

* WHERE...Northwestern New Jersey.

* WHEN...Until 2 AM EDT Thursday. Snow will develop through this
morning, becoming heavy at times especially from late morning through
early evening when snowfall rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour are
expected. The snow then tapers off late this evening.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel will be very difficult to
impossible, especially during this evenings commute. Be prepared
for significant reductions in visibility at times. Once snowfall
rates reach or exceed one inch per hour, it becomes difficult
for road crews to keep up due to rapid accumulations. The weight
of the snow on trees and power lines can lead to power outages.
Unnecessary travel is not recommended especially this afternoon
and evening.

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you
must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for
the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
