Coastal Flood Advisory
Middlesex-Western Monmouth-Eastern Monmouth-
912 PM EDT Tue Mar 20 2018

* LOCATIONS...Coastal areas of Middlesex County and Monmouth

* COASTAL FLOODING...Minor flooding is possible with the high
tides on Wednesday and Wednesday night.

* TIMING...Flooding may occur for a few hours around the time of
high tide. High tide on the New Jersey oceanfront occurs between
10:30 AM and 11:30 AM on Wednesday, and between 11:00 PM and
midnight on Wednesday night. High tide on the back bays and on
Raritan Bay occurs later than the high tide on the oceanfront.

* SURGE...Around 2.0 to 2.5 feet on Wednesday and Wednesday

* WAVES...Around 10 to 15 feet off the coast on Wednesday, and
around 6 to 10 feet on Wednesday night.

* IMPACTS...Roadways flooding is expected. Some roads may be
closed due to high water. The tide and wave action could result
in moderate beach erosion.

A Coastal Flood Advisory means that minor tidal flooding is
expected. Minor tidal flooding often results in some road
closures. Usually, the most vulnerable roads will flood.

Do not leave your vehicle at a location that is prone to tidal
flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. The
water may be deeper than you think it is. You will be putting
yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged, leading to
costly repairs.

Visit the Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service at
water.weather.gov/ahps for additional water level and flood impact
information for your local tide gauge.

Time of high total tides are approximate to the nearest hour.
