...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO
6 AM CST SUNDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HASTINGS HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT
FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 AM CST SUNDAY.

* IMPACT...TRAVEL MAY BECOME HAZARDOUS BY LATER THIS EVENING AS
TEMPERATURES FALL BELOW FREEZING AND SNOW ACCUMULATIONS
INCREASE.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...2 TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW EXPECTED.

* TIMING...ALTHOUGH THERE WILL BE PERIODS OF SNOW THROUGHOUT THE
DAY...MOST OF THE ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL HOLD OFF UNTIL THIS
EVENING WHEN TEMPERATURES FALL BELOW FREEZING. THE WIND WILL
THEN SHARPLY PICK UP AFTER MIDNIGHT.

* UNCERTAINTY...ALTHOUGH PRECIPITATION IS LIKELY...THERE IS
UNCERTAINTY IN HOW MUCH OF THE PRECIPITATION WILL FALL AS RAIN
AND HOW MUCH WILL FALL AS SNOW. THERE IS ALSO UNCERTAINTY IN HOW
MUCH SNOW WILL MELT ON CONTACT DUE TO INITIALLY WARM SURFACE
TEMPERATURES.

* WINDS...INITIALLY LIGHT...BUT WILL RAPIDLY INCREASE AFTER
MIDNIGHT AND SHOULD BE AROUND 25 TO 30 MPH WITH GUST TO 40 MPH
BY DAWN SUNDAY MORNING.

* WIND CHILL...AS THE WIND INCREASES AFTER MIDNIGHT THE WIND CHILL
VALUES WILL FALL INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS EARLY SUNDAY MORNING.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW MEANS THAT
VISIBILITIES WILL BE LIMITED DUE TO A COMBINATION OF FALLING AND
BLOWING SNOW. USE CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING...ESPECIALLY IN OPEN
