INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS...IN NORTHWEST NORTH CAROLINA...
ALLEGHANY NC...ASHE AND WATAUGA. IN SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA...
GRAYSON AND SMYTH.

* THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING

* SEVERAL LOCATIONS IN THE WATCH AREA HAD AS MUCH AS 3 INCHES OF
RAIN SINCE FRIDAY MORNING. AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 2 INCHES OF
RAINFALL...DUE TO STRONG SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS...IS POSSIBLE
LATE THIS EVENING AND OVERNIGHT. HIGH RAINFALL AMOUNTS IN A
SHORT PERIOD OF TIME MAY PRODUCE FLASH FLOODING...ESPECIALLY IN
AREAS THAT RECEIVED HEAVY RAIN FRIDAY AND EARLIER TODAY.

* HEAVY RAINFALL MAY CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL STREAMS AND
CREEKS...LOW WATER CROSSINGS...AND ANY FLOOD PRONE LOW-LYING
AREAS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
