...Areas of fog will hold over the northern Piedmont through 800 AM...
Areas of fog, some of locally dense, will persist across portions
of the Piedmont of central North Carolina through mid morning.
Locations likely to see visibilities reduced to less than a mile
including Albemarle, Lexington, Greensboro, Burlington, Pittsboro,
Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh, Sanford, Dunn, Smithfield, and
Louisburg. This includes portions of Interstates 40 and 85, along
with Highways 64 and 15-501.
Drivers are urged to slow down, use low beam headlights, and
leave plenty of following distance between vehicles. Be on the
lookout for sudden changes in visibility. Visibility can drop
quickly over short distances, especially near rivers, lakes and
other low-lying areas.
Visibilities will begin to improve after 800 AM.
