...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST
* WHAT...Light snow and black ice. Plan on slippery road
conditions beginning this evening, continuing through much of
tomorrow. Total snow accumulations of up to one inch are
expected, with locally higher amounts in the high elevations.
* WHERE...The Smokies and surrounding areas.
* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Wednesday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...While many locations in the lower valleys
will likely see less than an inch of snow accumulation, very
cold temperatures surging into the area this evening into early
tomorrow will result in residual moisture rapidly freezing on
roads and other surfaces. High temperatures will be well below
freezing tomorrow, so any improvement in road conditions will be
slow. Cold wind chills as low as 5 below zero will cause
frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin tonight
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered
roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
