Areas of fog this morning, so be alert if traveling.
Fog developed in the mountain valleys overnight, including the
foothills of the Blue Ridge. The fog was particularly dense along
the I-81 corridor between Christiansburg Virginia, and Bristol
Tennessee where visibilities were a quarter mile or less.
The fog is expected to stick around until after daybreak with
visibilities ranging from under a 1/4 mile, to as much as a mile
or two. The dense fog will be patchy, so watch out for sudden
drops in the visibility where it may become hard to see for short
distances. Those traveling Interstate 81, as well as I-77, be
prepared for slower than normal traffic patterns.
For everyones safety, please use your low beam headlights and,
reduce your speed when you encounter these reduced visibilities.
The fog is expected to stick around until about 900 AM EDT, so
plan for more time to get to your destination this morning.
