Flash Flood Watch
Including the cities of Butler, Lisman, Silas, Chatom, Millry,
Waynesboro, Beaumont, New Augusta, Richton, Leakesville, McLain,
Wiggins, and Lucedale
435 AM CDT Fri Jun 23 2017

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* Portions of southwest Alabama and southeast Mississippi,
including the following areas, in southwest Alabama, Choctaw
and Washington. In southeast Mississippi, George, Greene,
Perry, Stone, and Wayne.

* Through this evening

* Flash flooding remains possible as additional bands of heavy
rain from Cindy's remnant circulation moves across southern
Arkansas and toward the Midsouth through today.

* Additional rainfall totals up to 3 inches are possible,
especially where the more persistent rain bands set up. Five to
ten inches of rain have already fallen across much of the watch
area since late Tuesday. Any additional heavy rainfall will only
further increase the flooding potential across the area. In
addition to the flash flooding, many area rivers are forecast to
reach moderate flood stage.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. This is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
