The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of central Mississippi, south
central Mississippi and southeast Mississippi, including the
following areas in central Mississippi, Copiah and Simpson. In
south central Mississippi, Jefferson Davis, Lawrence, Lincoln
and Marion. In southeast Mississippi, Covington, Forrest,
Jones and Lamar.

* Until 7 PM CDT this evening

* Rainfall amounts of 2 to 5 inches in a short period of time may
lead to flash flooding, especially in areas where the ground
has been saturated by heavy rain over the past few days.

* The flooding of roads, low lying areas, and areas with poor
drainage will be possible. If encountering flooded roadways,
remember to turn around, don't drown.


A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a

* Flood Warning for Urban Areas and Small Streams in...
Northeastern Lincoln County in south central Mississippi...

* Until 500 PM CDT

* At 158 PM CDT, emergency management reported flooding in
northeastern Lincoln County. Water was reported across Old Malcum
Road. Six to eight inches of rain have fallen.

* Flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of northeastern
Lincoln County.


Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
