...FLASH FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING...

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* Portions of northeast Louisiana and Mississippi, including the
following areas in northeast Louisiana, Catahoula and
Concordia. In Mississippi, Adams, Clarke, Covington, Forrest,
Franklin MS, Jasper, Jefferson Davis, Jones, Kemper, Lamar,
Lauderdale, Lawrence, Lincoln, Lowndes, Marion, Neshoba,
Newton, Noxubee, Scott, Simpson, Smith and Winston.

* Through Friday evening

* Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches in a short period of time may
lead to flash flooding, especially considering the saturated
state the ground. A few rounds of this type of rain will occur
through Friday across the region.

* The flooding of roads, low lying areas, and areas with poor
drainage will be possible. If encountering flooded roadways,
remember to turn around, don't drown.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
