The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of southeast Arkansas and
northwest Mississippi, including the following areas in
southeast Arkansas, Ashley and Chicot. In northwest
Mississippi, Bolivar.

* From Wednesday morning through Thursday morning

* Multiple rounds of thunderstorms with heavy rainfall could bring
3-5" of rain with locally higher amounts possible.

* The flooding of roads, low lying areas, and areas with poor
drainage will be possible. If encountering flooded roadways,
remember to turn around, don't drown.


A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

* Flood Advisory for
The Mississippi River Near Arkansas City.
* until Wednesday evening.
* At 11:00 AM Tuesday the stage was 27.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 37.0 feet.
* Forecast...With an addition 2 days of forecast rainfall, the river will
rise to near 35.0 feet by Friday March 09. With significant rainfall
beyond 2 days, future forecasts could reach the moderate flood category.
* Impact...At 35.0 feet...The Road to donaldson point is cut off.
