...AIRPORT WEATHER WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 600 PM CDT...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON HAS ISSUED AN AIRPORT WEATHER
WARNING FOR A 5 MILE RADIUS OF THE JACKSON-EVERS INTERNATIONAL
AIRPORT. THE WARNING WILL BE IN EFFECT UNTIL 600 PM CDT.

AT 500 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS DETECTED A
STRONG THUNDERSTORM LOCATED NEAR RICHLAND MOVING EAST AT 10 MPH.

THIS STORM IS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING WEST TO SOUTHWEST CROSS WINDS OF
30 TO 40 KNOTS BY 520 PM AND LASTING THROUGH 6 PM.

THESE CONDITIONS WILL CREATE HAZARDOUS LOW LEVEL TURBULENCE AND WIND
SHEAR CONDITIONS. AIRCRAFT ENGAGED IN LANDING OR TAKEOFF OPERATIONS
SHOULD EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION.

A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING 40 TO 50 MPH
WINDS WAS LOCATED FROM 3 MILES SOUTHEAST OF POCAHONTAS TO BYRAM AT
457 PM CDT...MOVING EAST AT 15 MPH.

VERY HEAVY RAIN ALONG WITH CONTINUOUS CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING ARE
ALSO POSSIBLE WITH THESE STORMS.

PEOPLE IN NORTHEASTERN HINDS...SOUTH CENTRAL MADISON AND WEST CENTRAL
RANKIN COUNTIES SHOULD MONITOR THESE STORMS CLOSELY.
