...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* The Missouri Ozarks and far southeastern Kansas.

* Through Sunday evening

* Periods of showers and thunderstorms producing torrential
rainfall will occur today through Sunday. Widespread event
rainfall amounts from 3 to 6 inches are expected, with localized
amounts up to 8 inches possible. The highest rainfall amounts
will occur across far southern Missouri with lighter amounts
toward central Missouri. Intense rainfall rates will quickly
lead to flash flooding.

* With soils already saturated as well as streams and rivers
running high, the potential for significant flooding is becoming
more likely. Flooding of streams, rivers, and low water
crossings could last for several days after the rain ends. Areas
that don't normally flood could flood in this event.

Some main stem rivers that will experience significant rises and
potential flooding include the Elk, Spring, James, Big Piney,
Gasconade, Jacks Fork, Current, Eleven Point, Osage, and Marmaton.
Some river points may reach moderate or major flood stage.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
