* Flash Flood Warning for...
Southeastern Dallas County in southwestern Missouri...
Laclede County in southwestern Missouri...
Pulaski County in central Missouri...
Phelps County in east central Missouri...

* Until 1215 AM CDT Sunday

* At 1203 PM CDT, The Department of Transportation reported flash
flooding across the warned area. Up to three inches of rain has
already fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring. Heavy rain
will once again move into the region, causing additional flash
flooding across the warned area.

This warning includes but is not limited to the following low water
crossings...
Route O at Jones Creek just south of Dixon...
Route Y northwest of Rolla...
Route J at Parks Creek 2 miles east of Morgan...
Route B, 2 miles west of Conway...
and Highway 32, 1 Mile east of Long Lane.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of southeast Kansas and Missouri, including the
following areas, in southeast Kansas, Bourbon, Cherokee, and
Crawford. In Missouri, Barry, Barton, Benton, Camden, Cedar,
Christian, Dade, Dallas, Dent, Douglas, Greene, Hickory,
Howell, Jasper, Laclede, Lawrence, Maries, McDonald, Miller,
Morgan, Newton, Oregon, Ozark, Phelps, Polk, Pulaski, Shannon,
St. Clair, Stone, Taney, Texas, Vernon, Webster, and Wright.

* Through Sunday evening

* Periods of showers and thunderstorms producing torrential
rainfall will occur today through Sunday. An additional 2 to 4
inches of rainfall will be possible through Sunday on top of the
one to six inches of rainfall that occurred through midday.

* With soils already saturated as well as streams and rivers
running high, significant flooding will continue. Flooding of
streams, rivers, and low water crossings could last for several
days after the rain ends. Areas that don't normally flood could
flood in this event. Many rivers are expected to go into
moderate to major flood...with some breaking records.

Some main stem rivers that will experience significant rises and
potential flooding include the Elk, Spring, James, Big Piney,
Gasconade, Jacks Fork, Current, Eleven Point, Osage, and
Marmaton. Some river points may reach moderate or major flood
stage.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

will fall below flood stage by Tuesday morning.
* Impact...At 23.0 feet...Major Flood Stage. The Fort Leonard Wood
