A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS WITH TORRENTIAL RAINFALL WILL AFFECT THE
FOLLOWING COUNTIES...

Hennepin...McLeod...Carver...Sibley...Renville...Meeker...Wright...
Scott...

At 727 PM CDT...a line of thunderstorms with torrential rainfall was
located along a line extending from eastern Renville county to Scott
county, moving north around 20 mph.

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
Minneapolis, Hutchinson, Bloomington, Plymouth, Eden Prairie,
Burnsville, Lakeville, Minnetonka, Edina, St. Louis Park, Shakopee
and Richfield.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE PONDING OF WATER IN
URBAN AREAS...HIGHWAYS... STREETS AND UNDERPASSES AS WELL AS OTHER
POOR DRAINAGE AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL
ACROSS FLOODED ROADS. FIND ALTERNATE ROUTES. IT TAKES ONLY A FEW
INCHES OF SWIFTLY FLOWING WATER TO CARRY VEHICLES AWAY.

...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM CDT FOR SOUTH
CENTRAL HENNEPIN...NORTH CENTRAL SCOTT AND EAST CENTRAL CARVER
COUNTIES...

At 753 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located over Shakopee, or 18 miles southwest of Minneapolis,
moving northwest at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is
likely.

This dangerous storm will be near...
Carver around 805 PM CDT.
Eden Prairie around 810 PM CDT.
Chaska around 820 PM CDT.
Chanhassen, Victoria and Excelsior around 825 PM CDT.

Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include
Marystown, Flying Cloud Airport, Greenwood, Shorewood and Deephaven.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.
