...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM WEDNESDAY TO
10 AM CDT THURSDAY...

* LOCATION...EAST CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST MINNESOTA...INCLUDING
THE TWIN PORTS AREA...INTERSTATE 35 CORRIDOR THROUGH CARLTON
COUNTY... AND ALONG THE NORTH SHORE TO TWO HARBORS.

* TIMING...SNOW WILL BEGIN EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING AND INCREASE
IN INTENSITY AND COVERAGE LATE WEDNESDAY MORNING AND INTO THE
AFTERNOON... EVENTUALLY DIMINISHING AND MOVING OUT OF THE
REGION LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...6 TO 10 INCHES OF SNOW IS POSSIBLE. THE
HEAVIEST AMOUNTS WILL LIKELY EXTEND FROM SOUTHERN CARLTON
COUNTY NORTHEAST TO AROUND DULUTH. LIGHTER AMOUNTS AROUND 6
INCHES OR LESS ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS SOUTHERN SAINT LOUIS COUNTY
AND TO THE NORTH.

* WINDS/VISIBILITY...EAST TO NORTHEAST WINDS 20 TO 25 MPH ARE
EXPECTED CLOSE TO LAKE SUPERIOR. FREQUENT GUSTS 30 TO 40 MPH
ARE POSSIBLE. VISIBILITY WILL BE LESS THAN ONE QUARTER OF A
MILE AT TIMES DURING THE HEAVIER SNOW BANDS... AND ESPECIALLY
CLOSER TO LAKE SUPERIOR WITH THE COMBINATION OF BLOWING SNOW.

* IMPACTS...THE HEAVY SNOW AND HIGH WINDS COULD BRING DOWN
BRANCHES. ROADS COULD BECOME SNOW COVERED WITH LOW VISIBILITY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW MEANS THE
COMBINATION OF STRONG WINDS AND FALLING AND BLOWING SNOW WILL
CAUSE DANGEROUSLY LOW VISIBILITY AND DRIFTING SNOW. SNOW AND ICE
COVERED ROADS...AND DANGEROUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS CAN BE EXPECTED.
DELAY TRAVEL IF POSSIBLE. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL...USE EXTREME
CAUTION AND ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO REACH YOUR DESTINATION. BE AWARE
THAT YOU MAY BECOME STRANDED AND THAT IT COULD TAKE MANY HOURS
FOR HELP TO ARRIVE. KEEP A WINTER SURVIVAL KIT IN YOUR VEHICLE...

* LOCATION...THE ARROWHEAD OF NORTHEAST MINNESOTA...INCLUDING
THE NORTH SHORE AND SECTIONS OF THE IRON RANGE.

* TIMING...SNOW WILL DEVELOP WEDNESDAY MORNING AND INCREASE IN
INTENSITY AND COVERAGE DURING THE LATE MORNING AND EARLY
AFTERNOON. BLOWING SNOW WILL DURING THIS TIME ALSO. THE SNOW
WILL TAPER OFF WEDNESDAY NIGHT.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...THREE TO FIVE INCHES OF SNOW IS POSSIBLE
ACROSS PARTS OF THE ARROWHEAD.

* WINDS/VISIBILITY...GUSTY EAST TO NORTHEAST WINDS THROUGH
WEDNESDAY WILL CAUSE REDUCED VISIBILITY IN BLOWING SNOW.

* IMPACTS...HE HEAVY SNOW AND HIGH WINDS COULD BRING DOWN
BRANCHES. ROADS COULD BECOME SNOW COVERED WITH LOW VISIBILITY.
