* until Sunday afternoon.
* at 12 PM Tuesday the stage was 6.0 feet.
* Bankfull stage is 6.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* Forecast, the river will rise to near 7.6 feet by tomorrow morning.
* Impact, at 8.0 feet...Expect minor flooding of residences and
apartments in low lying areas adjacent to the river.

the Kalamazoo River At Battle Creek.
* until late Friday night.
* at 05 PM Tuesday the stage was 5.4 feet.
* Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Forecast, the river will rise to near 7.2 feet by Thursday early
* Impact, at 7.0 feet...River is bankfull, overflow begins in areas
downstream of Battle Creek.

* Flood Advisory for
the Battle Creek At Battle Creek.
* until late Saturday night.
* at 06 PM Tuesday the stage was 1.7 feet.
* Bankfull stage is 3.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 4.0 feet.
* Forecast, the river will rise to near 3.3 feet by Thursday evening.
* Impact, at 3.0 feet...River is bankfull. Flooding of low lying
areas occurs in the vicinity of Pine Lake Road and McAllister Road
at the river crossings. Rising waters begin to impact the backyards
of homes in the vicinity of the river near Pine Lake Road and
McAllister Road in Pennfield Township.

The Flood Warning continues for
the St Joseph River At Burlington.
* from Thursday afternoon until further notice.
* at 2:00 PM Tuesday the stage was 5.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 6.5 feet.
* Minor Flooding is forecast.
* Forecast, rise above flood stage by Thursday early afternoon and
continue to rise to near 6.9 feet by Saturday early afternoon.
* Impact, at 6.5 feet...Expect minor flooding of crawl spaces to
homes adjacent to the river upstream.
* Flood history, this crest compares to a previous crest of 6.5 feet
on Apr 24 2013.

At 344 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated numerous showers moving east
across the area. Two to inches of rain had already fallen and about
another inch is expected to fall the rest of this afternoon and this

Rainfall rates may locally top a half inch per hour in the heaviest
bands. Flooding conditions are expected to worsen into tonight with
an increasing likelihood of road closures and threats to homes and
other buildings.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Grand Rapids, Lansing, Kalamazoo, Portage, Jackson, Holland, Ionia,
Grand Haven, Charlotte, Albion, Mason, St. Johns, Hastings, Marshall,
Belding, Eaton Rapids, Allegan, South Haven, Portland and Plainwell.


Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
