AREA THROUGH 8 AM. STREAMS AND RIVERS CONTINUE TO SHOW SIGNIFICANT
RISES FROM THE HEAVY RAINFALL BUT REMAIN WELL WITHIN THEIR BANKS.

* ADDITIONAL RAINFALL OF UP TO AN ONE INCH WILL ALLOW STREAMS AND
RIVERS TO RISE MORE BUT FLOODING IS NOT EXPECTED. PONDING OF WATER
ON ROADWAYS IS EXPECTED AND SOME LOW SPOTS COULD HAVE STANDING
WATER.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

A FLOOD ADVISORY MEANS RIVER OR STREAM FLOWS ARE ELEVATED OR PONDING
OF WATER IN URBAN OR OTHER AREAS IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT.

* RAINFALL TOTALS OVER THE PAST 48 HOURS HAVE AVERAGED FROM 2 INCHES
IN HANCOCK COUNTY TO OVER 4 INCHES IN PORTIONS OF WASHINGTON COUNTY.
EASTPORT REPORTED JUST UNDER 4 INCHES DURING THIS TIME PERIOD.

* ANOTHER BATCH OF RAIN WILL MOVE WEST ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA WITH
AN ADDITIONAL ONE HALF INCH OF RAINFALL. STREAMS AND RIVERS HAVE
RISEN SIGNIFICANTLY FROM THE HEAVY RAINFALL BUT ARE WELL WITHIN
THEIR BANKS. SOME OF THE SMALLER STREAMS ARE APPROACHING BANKFULL.
THERE HAVE BEEN REPORTS OF STANDING WATER ON ROADWAYS AND IN LOW
LYING AREAS. A FEW DIRT ROADS MAY BE WASHED OUT DUE TO THE
RAINFALL.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

IN HILLY TERRAIN THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF LOW WATER CROSSINGS WHICH ARE
POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS IN HEAVY RAIN. FIND ALTERNATE ROUTES IF
POSSIBLE.
