...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY EVENING THROUGH SUNDAY
EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Gray has issued a

* Flood Watch for portions of western Maine and New Hampshire.

* From Friday evening through Sunday evening

* Exceptionally warm temperatures tomorrow and Saturday will
generate significant melting of snowpack. The warmth will ripen
and melt the snowpack, causing rivers and streams to rise
through tomorrow. Additionally, a strong cold front will move
across the region Saturday night producing locally heavy
rainfall with up to an inch possible in some locations.

* The primary flood threat will be ice jam flooding. The threat is
higher in New Hampshire where temperatures are warmest and
precipitation will be higher than in Maine.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
