...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 5 PM EDT
The National Weather Service in Gray has issued a Winter Weather
Advisory for snow sleet and freezing rain...which is in effect
from 2 AM to 5 PM EDT Monday.
* HAZARD TYPES...Snow, sleet, and freezing rain.
* Accumulations...Snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches...along
with around a trace of ice.
* TIMING...Precipitation will begin as a period of snow later
tonight and will change to sleet and freezing rain toward
morning and into the day on Monday. Temperatures are expected
to warm during the day on Monday, changing precipitation to rain
for most areas. However, wintry precipitation could continue
into Monday night in the western Maine Mountains.
* IMPACTS...Snow, sleet, and freezing rain will cause difficult
travel conditions. Freezing rain will make driving
particularly dangerous due to slick roadways. Ice accumulation
on trees will weigh down limbs and could snap small branches.
* Winds...Southeast 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.
* Visibilities...one quarter mile or less at times.
* Temperatures...In the lower 30s.
