* MODERATE FLOODING IS OCCURRING AND MODERATE FLOODING IS FORECAST.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 17.0 FEET.
* FLOODING IS POSSIBLE ALONG GARFIELD ROAD AND ROUTE 11...BUT NO
FLOODING HAS BEEN REPORTED AT THIS TIME.

ISLE...PORTAGE...MADAWASKA...LIMESTONE...LAC FRONTIERE...HOULTON...
FORT KENT...FORT FAIRFIELD...ESTCOURT STATION...EAGLE LAKE...
DEBOULLIE MOUNTAIN...DAAQUAM...CLAYTON LAKE...CARIBOU...ALLAGASH...

* UNTIL 1100 PM EDT

**A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR HAS BEEN
REPORTED. STREAM RISES WILL BE SLOW AND FLASH FLOODING IS NOT
EXPECTED. HOWEVER...ALL INTERESTED PARTIES SHOULD TAKE NECESSARY
PRECAUTIONS
IMMEDIATELY.**

RIVERS AND STREAMS ACROSS THE COUNTY ARE STILL FLOWING VERY HIGH
THIS AFTERNOON...WITH MANY STILL AFFECTED BY ICE. WHILE THE ICE JAM
ON THE AROOSTOOK IN FORT FAIRFIELD HAS RELEASED...THE RIVER GAUGE AT
MASARDIS IS STILL INDICATING AN ICE JAM IS IN PLACE NEARBY. ALTHOUGH
RIVER LEVELS ALONG THE LOWER STRETCHES OF THE AROOSTOOK HAVE
DROPPED...THERE IS STILL THE POTENTIAL FOR ADDITIONAL FLOODING UNTIL
ALL THE ICE HAS FLUSHED FROM THE RIVER.

THERE ARE ALSO SIGNS OF ICE JAMS CONTINUING TO AFFECT THE SAINT JOHN
RIVER...PARTICULARLY IN THE STRETCH FROM ALLAGASH TO FORT KENT.
WHILE NO RIVER FLOODING IS CURRENTLY ONGOING ALONG THE SAINT
JOHN...PERSONS ALONG THIS WATERWAY SHOULD REMAIN ALERT FOR RAPIDLY
CHANGING CONDITIONS.

IN ADDITION...MANY ROADS ACROSS THE COUNTY REMAIN CLOSED THIS
AFTERNOON DUE TO EFFECTS FROM YESTERDAY'S RAIN AND SNOWMELT. THE
LIST OF CLOSED ROADS INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:

ROUTE 164 BETWEEN WASHBURN AND PRESQUE ISLE

PORTER SETTLEMENT ROAD
COUNTY ROAD

IN MAPLETON:
PULCIFER ROAD
HUGHES ROAD

PRESQUE ISLE:
HENDERSON ROAD
FORT FAIRFIELD ROAD PARTIALLY CLOSED

MANY ROADS ACROSS THE COUNTY REMAIN CLOSED IN ADDITION TO THESE
LISTED ABOVE. WITH TEMPERATURES DROPPING INTO THE TEENS
TONIGHT...RUNOFF WILL SLOW ALLOWING WATER LEVELS TO DROP.

PLEASE REMEMBER...YOU SHOULD NEVER CROSS A FLOODED ROAD. OBEY ALL
ROAD CLOSURE SIGNS AND DO NOT DRIVE AROUND OR MOVE BARRICADES.
PERSONS ARE URGED TO STAY AWAY FROM ALL ICE JAMS AND FLOODED RIVERS
AND STREAMS.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS

* THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON.

* REPORTS OF FLOODED ROADS CONTINUE AS THE MILD TEMPERATURES AND
HEAVY RAINFALL EARLIER THIS WEEK PRODUCED RAPID SNOWMELT WITH
SOME ROADS BEING CLOSED AND CULVERTS BEING DAMAGED.

* ICE HAD BROKEN UP AND WAS MOVING ON THE RIVERS ESPECIALLY THE
SAINT JOHN... AROOSTOOK AND PISCATAQUIS RIVERS. AN ICE JAM ON
THE AROOSTOOK RIVER AT FORT FAIRFIELD WAS REPORTED BY TO HAVE
MOVED DOWNRIVER TO THE INTERNATIONAL BORDER. THERE IS STILL
ADDITIONAL ICE UPRIVER NEAR MASARDIS. ALL STREAMS AND RIVERS
CONTINUE RISE INCLUDING THE MATTAWAMKEAG AND PENOBSCOT RIVERS.
COLDER TEMPERATURES TONIGHT WILL SLOW THE RISING WATERS.
FLOODING CAN RAPIDLY DEVELOP IN THE VICINITY OF ICE JAMS. THOSE
WITH INTERESTS ALONG RIVERS AND STREAMS SHOULD REMAIN ALERT FOR
ICE JAMS AND POSSIBLE FLOODING.

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON
CURRENT FORECASTS.
