...Areas of freezing rain will increase through early this
evening...

A mix of rain and sleet, with some pockets of freezing rain, are
currently occurring or will shortly develop across portions of
the mid Hudson Valley, Litchfield County, the Berkshires and
southern Green Mountains over the next couple of hours.
Temperatures are expected to fall a couple of degrees through
early this evening, allowing areas of freezing rain and icing to
expand.

Untreated ground surfaces which are initially wet are expected to
become ice covered during the evening commute. Motorists and
pedestrians are strongly advised to use extra caution if driving
or walking through this evening.

Bridges and elevated road surfaces, highway on and off ramps,
less traveled secondary roads, and also parking lots, sidewalks
and driveways will be particularly susceptible to ice formation
through early this evening.
