THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LAKE CHARLES HAS EXPANDED THE

* FLASH FLOOD WATCH TO INCLUDE PORTIONS OF CENTRAL LOUISIANA AND
SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS...IN
CENTRAL LOUISIANA...AVOYELLES...EVANGELINE AND RAPIDES. IN
SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA...ALLEN AND JEFFERSON DAVIS.

* FROM 9 AM CDT THIS MORNING THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING

* MULTIPLE ROUNDS OF HEAVY RAIN WILL FALL ON ALREADY SATURATED
GROUND IN SOUTHEAST TEXAS AND WEST LOUISIANA. AREA AVERAGES
ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM 3 TO 5 INCHES WITH ISOLATED HIGHER
AMOUNTS.

* AREAS THAT SEE HEAVY RAINFALL WITHIN A SHORT TIME COULD
RECEIVE FLOOD WATER TO DEPTHS THAT WOULD IMPACT PROPERTY AND
PEOPLE IN THOSE AREAS. AREA CREEKS...STREAMS AND RIVERS ARE
ALSO LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE RISES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.

NORTHWESTERN AVOYELLES PARISH IN CENTRAL LOUISIANA...

* UNTIL 1030 AM CDT MONDAY

* AT 1032 PM CDT...THE RED RIVER AT ALEXANDRIA WAS 31.3 FEET. THE RIVER
IS FORECAST TO REMAIN NEARLY STEADY FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS. AT
THESE LEVELS OVERFLOW OCCURS ON THE FLOODWAY SIDE OF THE LEVEE FROM
ALEXANDRIA TO ACME. RECREATIONAL BOATERS SHOULD USE EXTREME CAUTION
DUE TO HIGH RIVER FLOWS. IN ADDITION...THE PUBLIC BOAT RAMPS IN
RAPIDS AND AVOYELLES PARISHES ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED.

The Flood Warning continues for
The Calcasieu River Near Glenmora.
* until further notice...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 7:45 PM Saturday the stage was 13.3 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to a stage of 13.1 feet
by Monday morning.
* Impact...At stages near 12.0 feet...When the river is falling and
the gauge reading is forecast to be near 12 feet, flooding of
forested areas near the river will occur.
