Southern Evangeline Parish in central Louisiana...
Acadia Parish in southwestern Louisiana...
St. Landry Parish in central Louisiana...
Southeastern Allen Parish in southwestern Louisiana...

* Until 1030 AM CDT

* At 430 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated the heavy rain that caused
flooding has departed the area. 2 to 10 inches of rain have
fallen. Flood waters will gradually recede through the morning.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Opelousas, Crowley, Eunice, Jennings, Ville Platte, Church Point,
Mamou, Welsh, Lake Arthur, Basile, Iota, Krotz Springs, Elton,
Leonville, Arnaudville, Melville, Mermentau, Palmetto, Bayou
Current and Evangeline.


Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

...Forecast flooding increased from Minor to Moderate severity...
The Flood Warning continues for
* until Saturday afternoon...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 6:00 AM Thursday the stage was 16.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 18.5 feet by
after midnight tomorrow. The river will fall below flood stage late
Saturday morning.
* Impact...At stages near 16.0 feet...Minor flooding begins along
the bayou with a few structures right along the bayou threatened.
