SOUTHEASTERN MAGOFFIN COUNTIES...

AT 347 AM EST...A MIXTURE OF SLEET AND SNOW WAS ONGOING...AND
EXPECTED TO CHANGE OVER TO ALL SNOW THIS MORNING...BEFORE TAPERING
OFF BY LATE THIS AFTERNOON. HOWEVER...RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL AND
SNOW MELT THAT OCCURRED TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY HAS RESULTED IN
FLOODING OF SOME AREA CREEKS AND STREAMS WITHIN THE WARNING. EXPECT
FLOODING TO CONTINUE IN THESE LOCATIONS THROUGH AT LEAST THIS
AFTERNOON.

SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...
PIKEVILLE...PRESTONSBURG...HINDMAN...ESTILL...COAL RUN VILLAGE...

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE PONDING OF WATER IN
URBAN AREAS...HIGHWAYS...STREETS AND UNDERPASSES AS WELL AS OTHER
POOR DRAINAGE AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL
ACROSS FLOODED ROADS. FIND ALTERNATE ROUTES. IT TAKES ONLY A FEW
