...Gusty Winds Expected Across Eastern Kentucky This Afternoon
.A fast moving area of low pressure will quickly increase the
winds across the area today and into the evening. As a result
south to southwest winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts to between 30
and 35 mph can be expected at times. Wind gusts of these
magnitudes will be prone to blow around any lawn decorations or
garbage cans as well as make driving difficult for higher profile
vehicles on east to west oriented roads. The winds will be
strongest over western parts of the area with lesser gusts found
in the east - outside of the higher ridges near the Virginia
border where gusts to between 35 and 40 mph will be possible.
