The Wabash River at Montezuma.

* At 8:45 PM Friday the stage was 28.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 29.4 feet by
after midnight tomorrow then begin falling.
* At 29.0 feet...Extensive flooding is in progress. Sandbagging
begins in the town of Montezuma.

* Forecast...The river is forecast to have a maximum value of 29.4
feet after midnight tomorrow.
* At 28.5 feet...On April 30, 2011 North Main Street just south of SR
63 closed when Norton Creek overflowed by backwater from the Wabash
River. Extensive flooding in progress.

* At 4:35 PM Friday the stage was 20.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 24.9 feet by
Monday early afternoon then begin falling.
* At 25.0 feet...Automobile Savage Yard north of U.S. 40 floods by
backwater from Sugar Creek. Persons remaining in Toad Hop should
prepare for flooding.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING...

The Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of central Indiana, east central Indiana, south
central Indiana, southeast Indiana, southwest Indiana, and
west central Indiana, including the following areas, in
central Indiana, Bartholomew, Decatur, Hancock, Hendricks,
Johnson, Marion, Morgan, Rush, and Shelby. In east central
Indiana, Henry. In south central Indiana, Brown, Jackson,
Lawrence, and Monroe. In southeast Indiana, Jennings. In
southwest Indiana, Daviess, Greene, Knox, Martin, and
Sullivan. In west central Indiana, Clay, Owen, Putnam, and
Vigo.

* Through Sunday morning

* Rainfall of 2 to 3 inches is expected through Sunday morning,
in areas that have already received as much as 4 inches of
rainfall in the last week. This will likely worsen flooding on
area waterways and lead to flooding of other streams, low
lying areas, and poor drainage areas.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
