The Flood Warning continues for
The East Fork White River at Shoals.
* from late tonight to Tuesday March 06.
* At 9:30 AM Saturday the stage was 15.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by early tomorrow and continue to
rise to near 24.6 feet by early Monday morning. The river will
fall below flood stage by Monday before midnight.
* At 26.0 feet...High water affects low residential areas on left bank
at Shoals. Some evacuations or moving of mobile homes is
necessary. Local roads flood more extensively. Rural residents
move livestock and equipment to high ground. State Road 550 floods
on right bank and also between Trinity and Dover Hill.

* At 7:24 AM Saturday the stage was 21.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 26.0 feet by
Tuesday morning. The river will fall below flood stage Sunday
evening.
* At 26.0 feet...Shawnee Airfield floods as flood waters begin to get
into the hangar. Relocation of livestock may be necessary.

* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 23.8 feet by
Monday evening. The river will fall below flood stage Monday early
afternoon.
* At 24.0 feet...Water is at critical stage for major agricultural
levees. All roads are underwater in flood plain except U.S.
Highway 50. Evacuations are necessary from river cabins. All
farmland on the unprotected sides of levees floods.

* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 21.1 feet by
Monday early afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage
Sunday morning.
* At 21.0 feet...Flood waters reach critical stage for McGinnis and
Shufflebarger Levees.

The White River at Petersburg.
* until further notice.
* At 9:30 AM Saturday the stage was 20.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 25.5 feet by
Wednesday morning then begin falling.
* At 25.8 feet...Near major flooding in progress. During the May
1990, the town of Petersburg lost their main water line. This
problem is believed to have been corrected. Seven floods since May
1990 have reached this level. Levees are monitored at this level.
Numerous roads flooded. Flood waters approach State Road 56 near
Bowman. Extensive flooding in Dodge City.

The Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of central Indiana, east central Indiana, south
central Indiana, southeast Indiana, southwest Indiana, and
west central Indiana, including the following areas, in
central Indiana, Bartholomew, Boone, Clinton, Decatur,
Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Howard, Johnson, Madison,
Marion, Morgan, Rush, Shelby, and Tipton. In east central
Indiana, Delaware, Henry, and Randolph. In south central
Indiana, Brown, Jackson, Lawrence, and Monroe. In southeast
Indiana, Jennings. In southwest Indiana, Daviess, Greene,
Knox, Martin, and Sullivan. In west central Indiana, Clay,
Fountain, Montgomery, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Vermillion, and
Vigo.

* Through Sunday morning

* Additional rainfall of 1 to 3 inches is expected through
Sunday morning, in areas that have already received
significant rainfall over the past few days. This will likely
worsen flooding on area waterways and lead to flooding of
other streams, low lying areas, and poor drainage areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
