...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE SATURDAY NIGHT...

The Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri, including the following
areas, in southern Illinois, Alexander, Edwards, Franklin,
Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson,
Massac, Perry IL, Pope, Pulaski, Saline, Union, Wabash, Wayne
IL, White, and Williamson. In southwest Indiana, Gibson, Pike,
Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh, and Warrick. In western Kentucky,
Ballard, Caldwell, Calloway, Carlisle, Christian, Crittenden,
Daviess, Fulton, Graves, Henderson, Hickman, Hopkins,
Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, McCracken, McLean, Muhlenberg,
Todd, Trigg, Union KY, and Webster. In southeast Missouri,
Bollinger, Butler, Cape Girardeau, Carter, Mississippi, New
Madrid, Perry MO, Ripley, Scott, Stoddard, and Wayne MO.

* Through late Saturday night

* Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms will produce
moderate to heavy at times through Saturday night. With
saturated soil, the result will be worsening areal flood
problems and isolated flash flooding potential, especially
Saturday afternoon and evening.

* The main flooding concern will be along small streams and
creeks that feed into already swollen rivers across the
region. Elsewhere, elevated water levels in low lying and poor
drainage areas may lead to standing water across some roads
that typically flood. Flash flooding will be possible with the
final round of heavy rain along the cold front late Saturday
and Saturday night.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
