The Flood Warning continues for
The Wabash River at Terre Haute.
* until further notice.
* At 8:45 AM Thursday the stage was 17.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 24.0 feet by
early Tuesday morning then begin falling.
* At 24.0 feet...A few agricultural levees fail. Water enters about
50 homes in the North Lake, Izaak Walton, South Lake areas and near
Fort Harrison Country Club. Some evacuations are necessary.
Significant flooding in progress of industrial area on east bank
near I-70. Backwater extends up Lost Creek to Lafayette Street.
Land on west side of U.S. 150 and railroad tracks begin to flood.

The Wabash River at Clinton.
* until further notice.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to have a maximum value of 27.3
feet Sunday early afternoon.
* At 28.0 feet...Old SR 63 (North Main Street) begins to overflow.
Top of agricultural levees in northern Vigo County is reached.
Critical stage of agricultural levees near gaging site is reached.
Evacuations may be necessary in rural areas just south of Clinton.
Backwater flooding begins along Feather Creek in Clinton.

* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 27.3 feet by
Sunday evening then begin falling.
* At 27.0 feet...Extensive agricultural flooding is in progress.
State Road 234 near Lodi may have as much as one foot of water on
it. Several county roads extensively flooded in Vermillion...
Fountain and Parke Counties.

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM EST THIS EVENING THROUGH
SUNDAY MORNING...

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a

* Flood Watch for portions of central Indiana, east central
Indiana, south central Indiana, southeast Indiana, southwest
Indiana, and west central Indiana, including the following
areas, in central Indiana, Bartholomew, Decatur, Hancock,
Hendricks, Johnson, Marion, Morgan, Rush, and Shelby. In east
central Indiana, Henry. In south central Indiana, Brown,
Jackson, Lawrence, and Monroe. In southeast Indiana, Jennings.
In southwest Indiana, Daviess, Greene, Knox, Martin, and
Sullivan. In west central Indiana, Clay, Owen, Putnam, and
Vigo.

* From 10 PM EST this evening through Sunday morning

* Rainfall of 2 to 3 inches or more is expected through Sunday
morning, in areas that have already received as much as 4 inches
of rainfall in the last week. This will likely worsen flooding
on area waterways and lead to flooding of other streams, low
lying areas, and poor drainage areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
