SATURDAY MORNING...

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of central Indiana, south
central Indiana, southeast Indiana, and southwest Indiana,
including the following areas, in central Indiana, Bartholomew
and Decatur. In south central Indiana, Brown, Jackson,
Lawrence, and Monroe. In southeast Indiana, Jennings. In
southwest Indiana, Daviess, Greene, Knox, Martin, and
Sullivan.

* From 8 PM EDT this evening through Saturday morning

* Multiple rounds of thunderstorms are expected late afternoon
through Saturday morning. Several inches of rain are possible
over all or parts of the watch area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

* Flood Warning for
the White River at Newberry.
* from Monday afternoon to Sunday May 07.
* At 11:30 AM Friday the stage was 4.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Monday early afternoon and
continue to rise to near 19.2 feet by Wednesday morning. The river
will fall below flood stage by Saturday before midnight.
* At 19.0 feet...Extensive agricultural flooding is in progress. Some
state and county roads flood. County Road 600 W just north of
river flooded by possibly more than two feet of water for a
considerable distance in Mary Long Cutoff Area. County Roads 900 W
and 750 S begin to flood in Greene County.

High water affecting other roads near the White River in Greene
County also. Extensive flooding of river bottomlands.

* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Monday early afternoon and
continue to rise to near 25.3 feet by Monday morning. additional
rises are possible thereafter.
* At 25.0 feet...Water is at critical stage for England Pond Levee on
Illinois side. Pearl City extensively floods. Installation of
flood gates is required for the city of Vincennes. Flooding occurs
in Old Vincennes area. Extensive agricultural flooding continues.

* from Sunday evening until further notice.
* At 12:00 PM Friday the stage was 7.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Sunday before midnight and
continue to rise to near 25.0 feet by Saturday morning.
* At 25.5 feet...Approaching major flooding with sandbagging possible
in Hutsonville and on local levees. Installation of Gill Township
Flood Gage at Riverton is necessary if river continues to rise.
State Road 154 between Hutsonville and Graysville is closed. All
river roads improved or otherwise are flooded, some by several feet
of water. East side of Palestine extensively flooded including all
of Leaverton Park.

* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to have a maximum value of 25.5
feet Friday evening.
* At 26.0 feet...Island Creek Levee on Indiana side is in danger of
failing. There are 2 farms on higher ground in protected area. A
few evacuations are necessary in Illinois towns of Hutsonville,
York, and possibly Darwin. Local improved road south of
Hutsonville to Palestine floods extensively in places.

* At 11:30 AM Friday the stage was 6.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Monday early afternoon and
continue to rise to near 21.5 feet by Saturday evening.
* At 21.3 feet...State Road 257 south of Washington began to flood
during May 2008 after local rains of more than an inch on very wet
soils with Petersburg at 21.3 feet and rising and Shoals at 15.5
feet and rising.

* At 7:00 AM Friday the stage was 6.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Monday early afternoon and
continue to rise to near 20.6 feet by early Thursday morning.
* At 20.0 feet...Water is at Critical levels for makeshift levees.
Most of bottomlands flood. Old Vincennes road and State Road 358
between Plainville and Edwardsport are impassable by several feet.
High water surrounds river cabins. This type of flood occurs on
average about once a year.
