...Areas of Freezing Fog Across Central...East Central and
Southeast Illinois This Morning...

The combination of a clear sky, light winds and residual moisture
left over from Saturday's rain and snow will continue to produce
areas of freezing fog early this morning. Visibilities in a few
locations have dropped briefly below one quarter of a mile and
we expect these conditions to continue through the early morning
hours. In addition, surface temperatures will remain well below
freezing resulting in a light deposit of ice on area roadways,
especially on bridge decks, on and off ramps and secondary roads.
The fog should begin to dissipate after 8:00 A.M. as temperatures
start to warm and winds gradually increase.

Motorists should be prepared for sudden drops in visibility early
this morning along with rapidly changing road conditions, especially
on the lesser traveled roadways. Leave plenty of room between your
car and the car in front of you, reduce speed, and use low beam
headlights.
